Labour Slams Buhari Govt Over Hike In Petrol Price

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has against the government of Buhari over the hike in petrol price.

Comrade Ayuba Wabba, NLC President said the increment of petrol pump price to 151 per litre shows that the federal government did not take Nigerians serious.

Wabba,  In a statement said industrial harmony in Nigeria cannot be guarantee by organized labour.

Wabba insisted the trust Nigerians had on this Buhari’s government to protect them has been betrayed by the federal government.

Wabba in his statement said “In fact, Nigerians and even NLC were in a shock, as this hike in pump price come at a time when many Nigerians are passing through very difficult time.

This hike in the price of petroleum is like adding salt to injury It’s like Nigerian are being taken for a ride.

“The petroleum price increment has happened now more than three times in three monthsalso the reduction of the interest rate of savings, has affects mostly the poor and the vulnerable.

Nigerians are Gradually becoming poorer and poorer, in fact, many people workers are already on the edge.

The government have betrayed the trust of Nigerians to be protected against the economic challenges, meanwhile at this point we cannot guarantee industrial peace and harmony, so we reject it in its entirety.
